"plandy01"A kind of pattern begins to emerge as teams begin to sort themselves out.

A number of teams in the comp are – in the celebrated parlance of Peter “Sensational Seventies” Landy, in “more trouble than the early settlers:

Serious emerging talent in Luke McDonald and Ben Cunnington depict a bright short term future for the Roos after heroic wet n wild victory at the SCG over the Swans, a first for coach Brad Scott.

Goddard goes down, Chapman left off the plane and 30+ degrees at Subiaco. Dons fold as Fremantle re-find the inevitable rhythm of their prodigious talent.

True Grit Melbourne win MCG Blues shoot out, gather the horse and split leaving Tombstone City under the mayorship of Mick Malthouse where barely a citizen proud enough to wear the lawman’s badge can be found. Carlton board invoke Steve Austin – “we have the technology, we can rebuild”.

After close games during most of the first three rounds, the familiar hammerings re-appear as Gold Coast, West Coast, Brisbane and St Kilda capitulate to the Hawks, Geelong, Port Adelaide and Adelaide respectively.

Docker Ryan Crowley loses crown as leagues most talked about tagger as Collingwood’s Brent McCaffer’s close checking, grabbing, pseudo defence cuddling and blocking job on Tiger Trent Cotchin generate megalitres of newsprint and digital font space dissecting legality of it all. Supercoach players everywhere cuss at mention of his name.

Years ago our Jack Russell “Spot” took the weight of our cars differential across both hips evaporating his capacity to walk. In the VET waiting room he verballed at volume a sick Alsatian six times his size, oblivious to his ability to walk, bite and fight. Substitute the word “Western Bulldogs” for “Spot” and you’ve got insight into the last two weeks of the Footscray come from behind ride over Richmond and GWS.

And then there were two – Geelong and Hawthorn stand as the only 2 undefeated teams and fortuitously they meet next round on Easter Monday. Beating the AFL’s new blockbuster category pricing a credit card guerrilla sport for gate entry card-carrying club members. I gun for the Category 4 and nab 3 seats behind the goals Richmond end amongst the cheer squad for under $50. Last year same seats were $20.

Big week in SuperCoach but my team tanked. Lousy score. Need to act and trade out the maimed, infirm and the duds. Gotta offload Sam Wright. I’ve got the cattle, but I can’t get em to fire on the same day. How I lost the players??? Here is the current side:
